Questions from Othello Act I Scene I

1. Why do Iago, Roderigo, and Brabantio all hate Othello (the Moor)?

Iago and Roderigo hate Othello the Moor, manly because he is different from all the rest of the population from Venice. He is from Egypt and this is way he suffer from prejudice. Brabantio also hates him, he have problems with his skin color too, but his hate comes more from the fact that Othello married his daughter, Desdemona.

2. What are Iago's reasons for continuing to follow his master, Othello -- even though he hates him?

Iago believes that if he is close to Othello it will be easier to "destroy" him. And since he would be working for Othello because of his own reasons he would not be a slave, he would be a person "with soul".

  2. Your answers were spot on, except they could have been a little more descriptive.
